About

Xanthia A. Tucker, MD, is a primary care physician who sees both adult and pediatric patients in the Adolescent Center and Teen and Tot Program at Boston Medical Center (BMC). She is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine (General Internal Medicine) at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

Dr. Tucker’s clinical interests include family planning, peripartum medicine, women’s health, adolescent health, and gender-affirming care. She also loves providing pediatric primary care. Her research interests include women’s health, reproductive health, narrative medicine, and medical education; her current research focuses on the incorporation of family planning — including complex contraception and medication abortion — into primary care.

Dr. Tucker received her medical degree from the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. She completed her residency in combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Michigan, where she also served as chief resident.

Dr. Tucker is a member of the Society of General Internal Medicine, the Society of Family Planning, and the Reproductive Health Access Project.
