The goal of the AmeriCorps Intermediary Program is to increase the reach of AmeriCorps services within BMC's Pediatrics Department and throughout the hospital, thus strengthening our patient population's access to healthcare and health-related resources. Meet our current service members:

Annanya Agarwal
Economic Mobility VISTA | StreetCred
Annanya recently graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Microbiology and Cell Science. Originally from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, she has worked with the underserved Guatemalan community, focusing on health disparities and youth engagement.
As a licensed EMT who has served on a 911 response team, Annanya has had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of populations. These experiences have shaped her into a fierce advocate for patient-centered care and health education in underserved communities. She believes it is crucial to view each individual as a spectrum of experiences rather than merely a product of their circumstances. Annanya is passionate about public health, holistic care, cardiology, and pediatrics, which she plans to pursue further in medical school.
In her free time, Annanya enjoys traveling, watching movies with friends, and training for her next 5K run. Annanya is thrilled to join the StreetCred team at Boston Medical Center, where she hopes to make a real difference in the Boston community. She is committed to empowering individuals by providing the education and tools they need to take control of their lives.
Olivia Bauwens
Community Mobilization VISTA | Vital Village Networks
Olivia graduated in May 2024 from the Clemson University Honors College with a dual degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice and a minor in Spanish. She is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, and is excited to get to know the city and people of Boston.
Throughout her college career, Olivia enjoyed working and volunteering for vulnerable populations in South Carolina, such as working as a Registered Behavioral Technician for children with autism and as an on-call victim's advocate for women experiencing sexual assault. She hopes to continue working to improve mental and physical health within the community, and to do so while exhibiting kindness and empathy to all. When she isn't working, Olivia enjoys coffee, reading, and going to the gym.
Grace DeCicco
Grow Clinic and EASE Clinic
Grace graduated in 2023 from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. She previously worked with the International Coalition of Girls' Schools and Advantage Cleveland, where she contributed to community-based initiatives supporting youth education and wellness.
Grace recently spent time traveling in Australia and New Zealand, broadening her perspective on education and child development across different cultures. She is excited to bring her passion and experience to Boston Medical Center, where she looks forward to making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families.
Catherine de Frondeville
Program Development VISTA | EASE Clinic
Catherine de Frondeville is a bilingual professional with a strong background in research, customer service, and communication. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark University in Women's and Gender Studies, with a minor in Political Science.
Catherine brings a diverse skill set to her position that includes research, problem-solving, and excellent written and verbal communication. She has experience conducting market research and managing customer relations.
Evelyn Ivry
Program Development VISTA | Grow Clinic
Evelyn is a dedicated and dynamic professional with a passion for implementing creative and equitable solutions to societal and community challenges. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Communication at Clark University, with an anticipated graduation in May 2025. Her academic journey complements her hands-on experience, including working with children with physical and mental disabilities and contributing to programming that supports formerly incarcerated individuals in their reentry journeys.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Evelyn is an avid reader and a lover of cooking competition shows. She is always looking for a new recipe to cook or bake!
Christian Kelley
Development Associate VISTA | Children’s HealthWatch
Christian Kelley recently graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Studies. He is passionate about exploring the effects of social and economic conditions on health outcomes, and strives to better the communities around him.
Christian has previously worked with organizations that increase awareness of and raise money to support environmental policies in Massachusetts. He also loves running, reading, and spending time with his dogs.
Maisie Kramer
Expansion and Economic Justice VISTA | StreetCred
Maisie is so excited to start her journey as the Expansion and Economic Justice VISTA Member at StreetCred! Maisie graduated summa cum laude from Clark University in May of 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She has worked as a teacher's assistant with middle school students at the Roland Hayes (formerly Heath) School in Brookline, Massachusetts, the city where she was born, raised, and lives to this day.
Maisie's eventual career goal is to research and develop public policy that promotes equality for marginalized groups. In her free time, she loves to read, do arts and crafts, and explore the Greater Boston area with her friends via public transportation.
Brian McCarroll
Program Development VISTA | Teen and Tot Program
Brian grew up in Connecticut and welcomes the return to New England! He formerly served as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the George Washington University's Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service, focused on communication and outreach efforts between the center, student populations, and neighboring communities. He worked with staff and student leadership to create storytelling materials and media that highlighted the work of the university and helped to identify strategic partnerships for future collaboration.
Brian loves sports, film, photography, and talking to strangers about whatever interests them. He looks forward to learning about, serving in, and getting to know his new neighbors and community!
Phoebe McIntosh
Community Mobilization VISTA | Vital Village Networks
Phoebe is a recent graduate of Tufts University, where she majored in community health, sociology, and French. During her time at Tufts, she was dedicated to sexual assault prevention, leading a student organization focused on strengthening student codes of conduct.
With a strong passion for public health - particularly nutrition and health equity - Phoebe has gained valuable experience working in local health departments, where she facilitated harm reduction campaigns and conducted community research. She believes deeply in the importance of community engagement and is particularly interested in nonprofit operations, with hands-on experience in development. Beyond her professional interests, Phoebe enjoys hiking, reading, and cooking. She is excited to bring her enthusiasm for capacity building to the team at Vital Village Networks.
Vivienne Uy
Youth and Community Engagement VISTA | Pediatric Neurology
Vivienne hails from the Philippines where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology. Her innate curiosity and passion for lifelong learning inspired her to pursue a Master's degree in Business Analytics, blending her scientific background with data-driven insights.
Vivienne will be joining the Boston Medical Center's Pediatric Neurology Program as the Youth Engagement and Disability Justice VISTA, where she is committed to empowering transition-aged youth and their families through empathic and data-driven initiatives. Her enthusiasm for innovation and education drives her mission to create a more informed and inclusive future.
