Boston University Eye Associates (BUEA) offers routine eye examinations as well as a wide array of diagnostic evaluations and treatments for patients of all ages with eye conditions such as cataracts, ocular surface disorders, glaucoma, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. If necessary, ophthalmologists perform surgical treatments for the most common conditions and refer patients to specialists if other testing or treatment might be needed.

Ophthalmology Residency
The BMC ophthalmology residency aims to produce comprehensive clinical ophthalmologists who possess not only clinical knowledge and surgical skills, but also the judgement, confidence, and independence to succeed in a variety of career choices. Residents will gain experience in routine and urgent eye care cases as well as eye surgery.
Ophthalmology Fellowships
BMC's ophthalmology department offers two fellowships: a two-year combined research and clinical fellowship in vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery and a one-year clinical fellowship in glaucoma. The vitreo-retinal disease fellowship provides comprehensive training in both medical retina and vitreo-retinal surgery. The glaucoma fellowship provides comprehensive training in both the medical and surgical management of glaucoma.
